An EXIT Toys heat pump for swimming pools: everything you need to know

EXIT Toys has various swimming pool heat pumps. With a heat pump you can (surprise!) heat the water of your swimming pool. That way you can enjoy your EXIT swimming pool on colder days as well.

How does a swimming pool heat pump work?

A swimming pool heat pump converts outside air into heat. The heat pump works on electricity and has a fan that blows the outside air past a heat exchanger. The outside air passes through the pump and a coolant ensures that heat from the air is converted into a gas. Compare it to a reversed air conditioner or refrigerator! The hot gas is pumped into a compressor and converted into even hotter gas. At the same time, swimming pool water flows through the heat pump. Thanks to the hot gas, the water in the swimming pool becomes wonderfully warm!

When should I use a swimming pool heat pump?

Is it a bit too chilly outside for a dip in your EXIT swimming pool? Then use a heat pump! This pump works from an outside temperature of 10 degrees. With an EXIT Toys heat pump you can heat up your swimming water to no less than 40 degrees! That’s getting us warm all right ;).

How do I use a swimming pool heat pump?

You can easily connect an EXIT Toys heat pump to your pool and filter pump. The heat pump has two hoses: one to connect to the pool, the other to the filter pump. This way the water first flows from the pool to the filter pump, then through the heat pump and finally flows back to the pool. You can set the desired water temperature on the digital display of the heat pump. Subsequently, the heat pump does its job! As soon as the water temperature is reached, the pump will switch off. Does the water temperature drop below the set temperature? Then the pump starts running again automatically. The pump only uses energy when needed!

How quickly does a heat pump warm up my swimming water?

How quickly the swimming water gets heated up depends on many factors, like the amount of swimming water, the amount of sun and wind, whether the swimming pool is situated in forestry surroundings and whether after use, the pool is protected with a cover or EXIT swimming pool dome . We highly recommend this last one because that way you prevent the heat from (unnecessarily) getting lost, and this saves time to heat it up again! It also keeps the water cleaner, and you won’t have to use as many chemicals like chlorine.

 

In addition, the surrounding temperature has a lot of influence on the water temperature and the (further) heating of the pool, both at night and during the day. With night temperatures underneath 8 degrees the pump will switch off, meaning more work the next morning! Moreover: the warmer the outdoor temperature, the quicker the water will be warm. This because in that case the pump can get more warmth from the outside air.

Which heat pump do I need?

EXIT Toys has heat pumps for various sizes swimming pools. The number of litres of water in your pool determine which one you need. We have a heat pump for swimming pools of up to 10,000 litres of water, a heat pump for swimming pools up to 15,000 litres of water and a heat pump for swimming pools to 22,000 litres of water.
