Autumn arts and crafts ideas

Playing outside in Autumn is pure joy, but thanks to all the prettiness fallen from the trees, the Autumn season also has plenty to offer for a fun filled creative afternoon inside. Celebrate Autumn with these four arts and crafts ideas from EXIT Toys.

Royal leaf crown

Feel like a real Autumn king or queen with a handmade leaf crown! 

This is what you need:
Autumn leaves
Scissors
Sturdy paper
Glue
Staples

 

Let’s get started!

Step 1

Choose some brightly coloured leaves for the crown.

Step 2

Cut off the stalks and let the leaves dry for a little while.

Step 3

Use the paper to cut a stroke which fits perfectly around your head.

Step 4

Are the leaves dry? Grab the glue and stick the leaves onto the the stroke of paper, in any way you like! Make the crown extra special by creating layers of leaves.

Step 5

Have you finished decorating the crown? Just staple the ends together.

Step 6

Put the autumn crown on your head and steal the show!

Unique acorns necklaces

Acorns necklaces are the finishing touch to your Autumn outfit!

This is what you need:
Acorns with cup
Paint and brush
(Permanent) marker
Embroidery needle
Wool and thread
Scissors
Glue

 

Let’s get started! 

Step 1

Take the amount of acorns you want to make your necklaces and remove the cups.

Step 2

Paint the acorns with your favourite colours and let them dry for a little while.

Step 3

Are the acorns completely dry? Finish your necklace off by using the marker to draw funny little faces on them or other fun shapes.

Step 4

Now take a little break and ask an adult to make two little holes in each cup with the embroidery needle.

Step 5

Then you can make a loop on top of each cup by leading a piece of thread through the holes and tying them together at the bottom of the cup.

Step 6

Decide on how long you want your necklace to be and then cut the wool at that length. Thread the wool through the loops of the cup.

Step 7

Just glue the acorns to the cups and now you have your little Autumn necklaces ready to combine with your outfit!

Playhouse makeover!

Yarn

Step 1

Gather the nicest Autumn leaves and let them dry for a little while.

Step 2

Paint the leaves with stripes, dots or other fun figures. However bright you like it.

Step 3

Let the leaves dry and in the meantime you can cut a long piece of yarn at the length you would like your garland to be!

Step 4

Has the paint on the leaves dried? Thread the leaves, using the embroidery needle, onto the yarn that you cut.

Step 5

Decorate your (play) house with the autumn leaves garland!
