Trick or treat! EXIT play tips for Halloween

Halloween is just round the corner and that means just one thing: it's nearly time to get into your scariest outfit and go hunting door-to-door for sweets. But out in the garden there's so much more to be enjoyed! The EXIT Halloween tips will certainly make it one scary, spooky day.

Creepy lucky dip

Are you a true daredevil? Then perhaps you'll dare to take on a creepy lucky dip! This game is for a minimum of 2 participants.

What you need:

EXIT sand and water table or a tub

Material to feel, such as cooked spaghetti, slime or tapioca pudding

Blindfold or tea towel

Step 1

Fill the EXIT sand and water table or tub with various materials that can't hurt you. So don't use any sharp or pointed objects, and only materials that are easy to remove afterwards. The most important thing is that they feel creepy. For instance, an old carrot or apple, tapioca pudding, a wet sponge, straw, slime, or cold spaghetti. No doubt you have plenty more ideas! Then cover the whole mess with a layer of autumn leaves or chestnuts.

Step 2

Now it's time for the first participant to put on a blindfold. Feel, smell and guess what you're feeling! Then it's the turn of the next one to feel and guess.

The one who guesses the most and who is the least scared wins!

Ghost sack race

Bursting with energy and wanting to challenge your friends? Then organise a ghost sack race in your own garden! You need a minimum of 2 participants for this activity.

What you need:

Jute sack or old pillow slip

Felt pens

Something to mark the start and finish points, for example, pumpkins

This is what you do:

Step 1

Everyone makes their own ghost sack with which you'll compete in the sack race. For example, use an old white pillowslip and paint a ghost face on it. Let your imagination run wild!

Step 2

Mark the start and finish points. For example, use two pumpkins. The ghost sack race runs between these points.

Step 3

Now all the participants stand in a row by the start pumpkin. Ready, set, jump!

The ghost who jumps across the finish line first wins! After that, still got some jumps in you and want to jump really high? Then an EXIT trampoline is something for you too! Choose your favourite, order now, and make spooky high jumps!

Craft some Halloween decorations

Want to have everyone shaking with fear? Decorate your home or EXIT playhouse with a Halloween pumpkin, spider webs, spiders and a cardboard skeleton. So it's turned into a real haunted house!

What you need:

A pumpkin

Felt pen or pencil

A blade (and an adult)

Spoon

Black cardboard and paper

Scissors

Chenille yarn

Perforator

White cardboard

Wire or thread

This is what you do:

Step 1

We begin with the pumpkin. First draw a face on it. Then ask an adult to cut off the top of the pumpkin. Don't attempt this yourself! Then you can scoop out the pumpkin with the spoon. Finally, get an adult to cut out the face, and your Halloween pumpkin is finished!

Step 2

Now we're going to make a spider out of paper and chenille yarn. Cut the body out of black paper and use a perforator to punch four holes on each side for the legs.Poke a piece of chenille yarn through each hole, and you have a spider! You can also glue eyes on the head.

Step 3

Lastly, we're going to make a terrifying skeleton. Draw the bones on white cardboard. You can also look for a template online, so you know how to draw the bones and how many. Cut out all the bones and make a hole in the top and bottom. Use a perforator or an awl to make the holes. Join the bones together with wire or thread to construct the skeleton.

Now you can decorate your home or playhouse! Put the pumpkin out in front of your house so that everyone can see it from a distance. Get some cotton wool, pull it apart and hang it up as spider webs with your home-made spiders. It gets truly scary when you hang your home-made skeleton up behind a window or door. Mission accomplished!

Trampoline balloon game

Feel like a new trampoline game? No problem. We have a great game for you to try out at Halloween. You need a minimum of two people.

What you need:

EXIT trampoline

Balloons in the colours of orange, green and white.

Water-proof felt pen

Stopwatch

This is how it works:

Step 1

Inflate the balloons. Draw scary faces, spider webs or bats on the balloons.

Step 2

Go stand on the trampoline. Have another player throw balloons one by one over the safety net of the trampoline. Try to keep all the balloons in the air for as long as possible, not letting them touch the trampoline. Once the first balloon touches the trampoline, stop the stopwatch and the next player takes their turn.

The one keeping all balloons in the air the longest wins! This way, trampoline jumping at Halloween is an even greater experience!
