Filter wadding for cartridge filter pump
The swimming pool filter wadding is suitable for cartridge filter pumps from EXIT Toys and is the durable replacement for filter cartridges. The wadding contains fine fibers so that even the smallest dirt particles, like sand and algae, can be captured. To add to that, the wadding is washable and can be used up to three years.
The filter wadding is an alternative for the regular filter cartridges. That’s why it’s important to cover the bottom of the pump with the included foam layer. This way you can be certain that the wadding will not get into the mechanism of the filter pump.
We advise you to hand wash the filter wadding at the end of the season, so it will be ready for use again in the new season. There is no need for maintenance either when using the durable filter wadding during the swimming season and you can enjoy the crystal clear swimming pool water all summer long.
Before using, the product first has to be assembled. The product is not delivered ready-to-use.
Does the product include a manual (including instructions for use) so you can assemble it yourself?
What is the total weight of the product, including the packaging?
Which type of pump is provided with the pool or the spa? Our swimming pools come with included filter pumps with cartridges and sand filter pumps. Filter pumps are economic, but require regular maintenance. Sand filter pumps require little maintenance, and purify the water even more. EXIT spas come with a cartridge filter pump which can heat up the water.
Yes, we always advise the use of a filter pump for EXIT frame pools.
You can choose a cartridge filter pump or a sand filter pump for our frame pools. In our blog ‘What is the difference between a cartridge filter pump and a sand filter pump?’ you can read all about the differences between the different EXIT filter pumps.
The frame pools from EXIT Toys always have a matching filter pump included. Would you still prefer a bigger filter pump, then you can of course always install one yourself. The stronger the filter pump, the cleaner your water will stay. Please do take into account that the filter pump has a 32-millimetre connector.
No, we only sell the frame pools in combination with a filter pump. This way you can be sure that you will always have a suitable filter pump for your pool.
No, when swimming we advise you to turn off the filter pump temporarily. Turn the filter pump back on as soon as you have stopped swimming.
You can use filter wadding for all the EXIT Toys frame pool filter pumps to clean the water. The filter wadding consists of small fibres which catch even the smallest dirt particles, such as sand and algae. The wadding is also washable and can last up to three years. The EXIT filter wadding for the cartridge filter pumps comes with a layer to prevent the wadding from getting into the pump system.
For clean water we recommend washing the filter wadding every two weeks (without detergent or fabric softener), especially during the summer period. That way you’ll enjoy crystal-clear pool water all summer long.
A filter pump uses between 0.35 and 4.0 amps. The standard current for most household electrical installations is 15 amps.
A filter pump works best if it is left on 24 hours a day, so the water quality remains the same.
No, a filter pump works best if it stays on 24/7. This keeps the water moving and prevents the growth of algae and bacteria in the water.
No, the EXIT filter pump is protected against light water drizzle. However, when a storm is expected we do advise you to cover up the filter pump temporarily.
When replacing the filter filling of the filter pump, it's important that no more water is running towards the pump. Therefore, remove the inlet and outlet sieve, which you can find on the outside of the pool, in their entirety. Subsequently, place the added plug in the liner. This can be difficult because the liner doesn't leave much space. You can use a bit of Vaseline or warm the liner up with your hands, so the material gets a little more flexible. In addition, you can use a bit of force and press and turn, then we're sure it'll work.
If it's possible you can also lift the filter pump above water level. Then you won't be bothered by leaking and replacing the filter filling will go much smoother.
With the action plan and the instructional images in this blog, connecting your pool pump(s) will be a piece of cake!
The adapter, also called "strainer", sometimes is a bit difficult to insert in the pool wall. This can certainly be the case when the pool liner is cold. Our tip is to turn and push the adapter.
You can read information about this and about the various functions of the sand filter pump here.
In our blog ‘How does an EXIT sand filter pump work?’ you can read all about the different sand filter pump modes.
In our blog we explain how the backflow function works.
When your sand filter pump is leaking, follow the steps below:
- Check whether the little tab of the cover fits the groove of the pump. You will find this tab on the back of the pump
- Check whether the red ring lies correctly in the lid. If the ring is twisted or loose, place it back in the lid in the correct position (see manual).
It might also occur that the lid was moved a bit during the assembly of the ring. If so, place the lid correctly back on the pump. - Is there filter sand in the pump and are you using the backwash function to clean the sand? Then check whether the turning knob on the top of the cover (backside) is unscrewed during the backwashing. In our blog about the working action of a sand filter pump you can read how this backwash function works. If you're using filter wadding in your sand filter pump, then you cannot use this function!
Have you gone through all the steps but is the pump still leaking? Then it's best to contact our customer service.
In our blog we show you how to connect a skimmer and what to watch out for.
No, EXIT Toys sells filter wadding which are suitable for sand filter pumps and cartridge filter pumps. The EXIT filter wadding ensure crystal-clear swimming water, are washable at 30°C with a washing bag (without detergent or fabric softener) and last up to three years.
For clean water we recommend washing the filter wadding every two weeks, especially during the summer period. That way you’ll enjoy crystal-clear pool water all summer long. You can read about all the advantages of filter wadding in the here.
The sealing ring of sand filter pumps (in the manual numbered as 395072) is supplied as standard. Contrary to what the manual mentions this ring is not in the box, but already fitted in the edge of the pump.
The entire contents of the box go into a sand filter pump: approximately 30 pieces. For cartridge filter pumps, usually a larger quantity of filter wadding than you need in one go is supplied. Fill the cartridge filter pump to the brim and press the filter wadding lightly. This way 12-13 filter waddings fit in a 300gal/h pump, 13-21 filter waddings fit a 530gal/h pump and 33-37 filter waddings fit a 800gal/h and 1000gal/h pump. The spa pump of EXIT Toys fits about 12 filter waddings.
Filter wadding are easy to wash by hand or in the washing machine at 30 °C and with a washing bag (without detergent or fabric softener). Then they are ready for use again. The filter wadding will not be as white as they were before their first use.
When using filter wadding in a cartridge filter pump it’s important to use the supplied bottom. This closes off the bottom of the pump. This prevents the filter wadding from entering the pump too far and causing the pump to fail. Place the supplied bottom in the filter pump before installing the filter wadding. You do not need a bottom for a sand filter pump, which already has a filter plate.
With an EXIT swimming pool heat pump you can heat up the water of your swimming pool to no less than 40 degrees! And that means you can enjoy your swimming pool much earlier, for example in the spring, when the water is not that warm (yet). With a heat pump you can also prolong the swimming season and have a lot of fun in the pool during late season.
A heat pump already works when the outdoor temperature reaches 10° Celsius or higher. At night, the temperature must be higher than 10 degrees too. Is it colder than 10 degrees than the water is not heated, and the swimming water will cool off. Of course in this case it will take longer to heat the water again.
The heat pump turns the outdoor air into warmth. The warmer the outdoor temperature, the more efficiently your swimming water is heated up. Once the water reaches the desired temperature, the pump will switch off. Is the water temperature cooling off? Then the heat pump will automatically switch on again.
Read more about the working action of heat pumps in our blog. Here you can also see which heat pump fits your EXIT swimming pool best.
The number of litres of water in your pool determines which heat pump you need. EXIT Toys has a heat pump for pools up to 10,000 litres of water, a heat pump for pools up to 15,000 litres of water and a heat pump for pools up to 22,000 litres of water. The water capacity of your EXIT pool can be found on the packaging and under the product on our website. The heat pumps from EXIT Toys are suitable for filter pumps of 300 gal / h.
Malfunctions of the heat pump are often the result of an insufficient water flow. Check the filter of your filter pump (both for a cartridge filter pump and a sand filter pump) and clean or replace it if necessary. Especially when using extra accessories such as a salt system, it’s important to regularly check and replace the filter.
With heat pumps from EXIT Toys and an outside temperature of 26 degrees, the COP (Coefficient of Performance) can be as high as 6,5. This means that when 1 kWh of electricity goes into the pump, 6,5 kWh of heat enters the pool. This means a heat gain of 5,5 kWh! How high the COP is, differs per pump. The higher the COP of the pump, the more favourable the consumption. How much energy your heat pump uses exactly depends on many factors, such as the ambient temperature, the amount of swimming water, the amount of sun and wind, whether the pool is in a wooded area and whether the pool is covered after use.
At the back of an EXIT Toys heat pump there’s a heat exchanger, through which refrigerant flows. Is this frozen and does the pump display ""Error107""? No worries! This is a sign that your pump is working hard. EXIT's tip: turn the back of the pump towards the sun. This way you give the pump a helping hand and your swimming water will be up to temperature in no time!
Yes, this is condensation water from the outside air. This doesn’t mean that the hose or the heat pump is leaking.
You're probably hearing the blowing of the fan of the heat pump. Very annoying, but unfortunately there's not much you can do about it. Turning the pump so the noise goes the other way might help a bit. Check whether the heat pump is placed on a flat surface. Because if this isn't the case, the pump can start to vibrate. In this case, move the pump to a more even surface.
It is normal for condensation to come out of the heat pump, this can be a puddle. The colder it is outside, the more condensation the heat pump loses. This is because the pump has to work harder; the coolant freezes, and condensation comes off of it as well. When you place the heat pump in a shed or garden house, there will be more condensation too.
In our blog: ‘Will an EXIT pool dome or canopy fit on my frame pool?’ you can read all about what is possible for your frame pool.
In our assembly video, we provide useful tips and tricks for the assembly of an EXIT pool dome.
Often this is due to improper mounting of the frame tubes. Check whether the long tubes are connected to the long sides of the pool and the short tubes to the short sides; there is only a small visible difference between the large and small tubes.
Are the tubes correctly attached? Then our advice is filling the pool while you set up the dome. The pool frame is already stable with 10 cm of water.
There's enough room to move under our pool domes. You can still throw a ball around and, in many cases, even stand under it! Do always make sure there's enough fresh air under the dome while swimming.
Because of its shape, the dome is highest in the middle. Below you'll find the maximum heights of the domes for all EXIT pools, when mounted on the pool. To get a good picture of the heights, you can click on a few dimensions for a video.
| 244x76cm - 180 cm | 220x150x65cm - 135 cm |
| 300x76cm - 220 cm | 300x200x65cm - 149 cm |
| 360x76cm - 250 cm | 400x200x100cm - 181 cm |
| 360x122cm - 295 cm | 540x250x100cm - 220 cm |
| 427x122cm - 320 cm | 400x200x122cm - 222 cm |
| 450x122cm - 330 cm | 540x250x122cm - 240 cm |
| 488x122cm - 350 cm |
Make sure there is always enough fresh air under the EXIT pool dome when swimming. Do you have a 400 x 200 cm or 540 x 250 cm dome? Then you can easily remove the sides of the dome, or open the windows. The round dome is best left ajar, so only close the dome completely with the straps or rubber bands when you are not using the pool.
The EXIT pool dome provides 60% protection against UV rays, so you will not get burnt very quickly when you swim. That makes swimming safer with an EXIT frame pool dome; but you should nevertheless use sun protection cream!
The EXIT swimming pool dome uses the sun to heat up the pool. When the sun is out it shines through the dome and heats up the air and the water. The dome then traps the heat. When you leave the dome closed for as long as possible, the water will stay nice and warm so that you can benefit from the sun’s power optimally.
Make sure that the dome is always affixed using the included elastic bands (whether it’s open or closed). In principle, the dome can take some wind, but if there are strong wind gusts, the dome must be protected. We advise the following:
In quiet weather (up to wind force 2) you can keep the dome either open or closed and even partially unfolded. In wind force from 2 to 6, we advise you keep the dome completely open or completely closed. In case of wind force greater than 6, we advise to have the dome completely open and to anchor it. In case of doubt, unfold the dome so that the pool is hit by as little wind as possible.
The best way to clean it is to carefully get rid of the dirt with some cold or lukewarm water. Avoid using detergents, hard brushes and abrasive sponges.
No, the swimming pool dome prevents the first invitation to enter the pool but cannot completely prevent it. Adult supervision is desirable at all times.
Yes, this is normal. The smaller the pool, the more space there is between the cover and the pool.
It's inevitable that the occasional critter will fly under the dome. You can open it halfway every now and then so they can fly out.
Yes, this is possible.
Two sets of screws are included with this pool dome, one set for EXIT frame pools and one universal set for other pools. So make sure you’ve used the right set of screws. Do things still not work with the right screws? Then please contact our customer service.
The EXIT pool dome must be anchored to the ground so it remains stable and cannot get blown away. For soft surfaces you can use the added ground anchors. For hard surfaces you can attach the added straps to the ground by means of screws or bolts that fit the surface. You need to take care of the fixing material yourself.
For hard surfaces you can attach the added straps to the ground by means of screws or bolts that fit the surface. You need to take care of the fixing material yourself.
Check the size charts and instructions to determine whether one of the pool domes fits over your frame pool.
Yes, in addition to placing it over a pool, you can also perfectly use the dome for covering for example your garden, trampoline, or garden furniture.
We recommend putting the dome in half-open position when you want to use the pool. Make sure that there’s always enough fresh air coming in from underneath the EXIT pool dome while you’re swimming.
The EXIT pool dome uses the sun to heat up your pool and serves as a greenhouse. When the sun is out, the sun rays go through the dome, so the air and water are heated up. This way, the dome retains the heat of the sun. If you leave the dome closed as often as possible, the water will stay nice and warm and you will optimally benefit from the sun’s power.
Make sure you always secure the dome, both open and closed, with the ground anchors provided (or your own fixing material in case of a hard surface). In principle, the dome can withstand wind, but it must be protected from the most violent gusts of wind. We recommend the following:
In calm weather (up to wind force 2) you can keep the dome partially open.
Up to wind force 4 you can keep the dome completely closed if you want to (thus leave it over the pool).
At wind force 5 you must open the dome completely (so do not leave it over the pool) and anchor it to the ground using the straps.
At wind force 6 or more you must disassemble the dome.
If you are unsure of the weather conditions, you should always open the dome and secure it with anchors.
It’s best to clean dirt gently with lukewarm or cold water. Cleaning agents and hard materials such as scouring sponges and brushes should preferably be avoided.
Under our pool domes there is plenty of room to move around. You can still throw a ball and, in many cases, you can even stand under it! Always make sure that there is enough fresh air under the dome when swimming. Because of its shape, the dome is tallest in the middle. Below you will find the maximum heights of the domes for all EXIT pools, when mounted on the pool. To get a good idea of the heights, you can click on a number of dimensions for a video.

No, the dome may prevent the initial invitation for children to enter the pool, but it cannot prevent it completely. Adult supervision is desirable at all times.
It’s inevitable that the occasional critters will fly under the dome. You can half-open the dome every now and then so the critters can fly out from underneath it.
No, the heat pump cannot be placed underneath the pool dome because the heat pump needs sufficient air circulation.
Yes, a pool dome goes together with a robotic mower but do make sure that the robotic mower cannot make contact with the pool dome. For example, place perimeter wire around the dome so the mower cannot get in and around the dome.
During snowfall or hail, the pool dome must be disassembled to avoid damage to the dome.
The frame pool canopies of EXIT Toys are made of Oxford fabric. This is a strong, lightweight material with a high-quality finish. The fabric is water-repellent and hardwearing.
Yes, you can easily clean the EXIT Toys pool canopies. The best way to do this is with a soft cloth and lukewarm water.
The material of an EXIT pool canopy is suitable for outdoor use. Discolouration from the sun will be minimal, but unavoidable.
